[2 Samuel 4:4] Jonathan son of Saul had a son who was lame in both feet. He was five years old when the news about Saul and Jonathan came from Jezreel. His nurse picked him up and fled, but as she hurried to leave, he fell and became crippled. His name was Mephibosheth.

A. 主動尋找 – Actively seeking

[2 Samuel 9:1] David asked, "Is there anyone still left of the house of Saul to whom I can show kindness for Jonathan's sake?"
[羅 3:10-11] 「沒有義人，連一個也沒有。沒有明白的；沒有尋求神的。」
[Romans 3:10-11] As it is written: "There is no one righteous, not even one; there is no one who understands, no one who seeks God.”

B. 恩典的稱呼 – The Call of Giving Grace

Samuel 9:6-7] [6] When Mephibosheth son of Jonathan, the son of Saul, came to
David, he bowed down to pay him honor. David said, "Mephibosheth!"
"Your servant," he replied. [7] "Don't be afraid," David said to him, "for I
will surely show you kindness for the sake of your father Jonathan. I will
restore to you all the land that belonged to your grandfather Saul, and you will
always eat at my table.”
C. 歸還產業 – Returned everything that belonged to him

[2 Samuel 9:9] Then the king summoned Ziba, Saul's servant, and said to him, "I have given your master's grandson everything that belonged to Saul and his family.”
D. 與王子同坐 – Seated with the Princes
[撒下9:11] 「…王又說，米非波設必與我同席吃飯，如王的兒子一樣。」
[2 Samuel 9:11] 「… Mephibosheth ate at David's table like one of the king's sons. 」
[詩 113:7-8] 「他從灰塵裡抬舉貧寒人，從糞堆中提拔窮乏人，使他們與王子同坐，就是 與本國的王子同坐。」
• [Psalm 113:7-8] He raises the poor from the dust and lifts the needy from the ash heap. That he may set him with princes, even with the princes of his people.

Receives Grace and Recognizes His Unworthiness
[撒下9:8] 「僕人算甚麼，不過如死狗一般，竟蒙王這樣眷顧。」
[2 Samuel 9:8] Mephibosheth bowed down and said, "What is your servant, that you should notice a dead dog like me?“

[2 Samuel 19:24] Mephibosheth, Saul's grandson, also went down to meet the king. He had not taken care of his feet or trimmed his mustache or washed his clothes from the day the king left until the day he returned safely.

[2 Samuel 21:7] The king spared Mephibosheth son of Jonathan, the son of Saul, because of the oath before the LORD between David and Jonathan son of Saul.
