主耶穌在十字架上所得的釋放
路十二50：『我有當受的洗，還沒有成就、我是何等的捆迫 (或關閉straitened, pent up) 呢！』
壹. 主耶穌在世上時
(壹) 主所完成的
一. 將父神完全表明出來
約一18：『從來沒有人看見 神, 只有在父懷裡的獨生子將祂表明出來。』
二. 神的國臨到地上
太十二28：『我若靠著神的靈趕鬼，這就是神的國臨到你們了。』
三. 預先教導門徒
太二十八19,20：『所以你們要去，使萬民作我的門徒，奉父、子、聖靈的名給他們施洗。凡我所吩咐你們的，都教訓他們遵守，我就常與你們同在，直到世界的末了。』
四. 預先給門徒權柄
太十1：『耶穌叫了十二個門徒來，給他們權柄，能趕逐污鬼，並醫治各樣的病症。』
(貳) 主所受捆迫
一. 連祂所呼召並跟隨祂的門徒，都仍在軟弱中
可十四50：『門徒都離開衪逃走了。』
二. 神的國只在祂一人身上表現出來
西二9：『因為神本性一切的豐盛，都有形有體的居住在基督裡面。』
三. 主工作的範圍只限於猶太人中
太十五24：『耶穌說：「我奉差遣，不過是到以色列家迷失的羊那裡去。」』
貳. 主在十字架上所得的釋放
(壹) 主自己所得到的
一. 超過肉身所承受，時間和空間的限制
使二24：『神卻將死的痛苦解釋了，叫衪復活，因為衪原不能被死拘禁。』
約二十19：『那日（就是七日的第一日）晚上，門徒所在的地方，因怕猶太人，門都關了。耶穌來，站在當中，對他們說：「願你們平安！」』
二. 升上高天得了尊貴榮耀為冠冕
來二9：『惟獨見那成為比天使小一點的耶穌，因為受死的苦，就得了尊貴榮耀為冠冕，叫衪因著神的恩，為人人嘗了死味。』
使二36：『故此以色列全家當確實的知道，你們釘在十字架上的這位耶穌，神已經立衪為主，為基督了。』
三. 領受了所應許的聖靈
使二33上：『衪既被神的右手高舉，又從父受了所應許的聖靈。』
(貳) 所賜予門徒的
一. 使信祂的人重生，成為神的兒女
彼前一3：『願頌讚歸與我們主耶穌基督的父神！衪曾照自己的大憐憫，藉耶穌基督從死裡復活，重生了我們，叫我們有活潑的盼望。』
二. 將聖靈賜給門徒
徒二33：『衪既被神的右手高舉，又從父受了所應許的聖靈，就把你們所看見所聽見的，澆灌下來。』
徒一8：『但聖靈降臨在你們身上，你們就必得著能力，並要在耶路撒冷、猶太全地、和撒瑪利亞、直到地極，作我的見證。』
三. 將各樣恩賜賞給人
弗四8：『所以經上說：「衪升上高天的時候，擄掠了仇敵，將各樣的恩賜賞給人。」』
四. 使門徒也得了豐盛
西二9,10上：『因為神本性一切的豐盛，都有形有體的居住在基督裡面，你們在衪裡面也得了豐盛。』
五. 賜人屬天的權柄
可十六17,18：『信的人必有神蹟隨著他們，就是奉我的名趕鬼，說新方言，手能拿蛇，若喝了什麼毒物，也必不受害，手按病人，病人就必好了。』
六. 託付門徒將神國帶到全地
太二十八19,20：『所以你們要去，使萬民作我的門徒，奉父、子、聖靈的名給他們施洗。凡我所吩咐你們的，都教訓他們遵守，我就常與你們同在，直到世界的末了。』

Matthew 28:19-20 [Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.]
Matthew 10:1 [And when he had called unto him his twelve disciples, he gave them power against unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all manner of sickness and all manner of disease.]
His distress
1. The disciples that He has called upon were weak Mark 14:50
2. The Kingdom of God was only revealed in Him Colossians 2:9
3. His ministry was limited to the Jews only

The freedom on the cross
What Jesus has gained Himself?
1. Has exceeded the limitation of earthly body, time and space
Acts 2:24 [Whom God hath raised up, having loosed the pains of death: because it was not possible that he should be holden of it.]
John 20:19 [Then the same day at evening, being the first day of the week, when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled for fear of the Jews, came Jesus and stood in the midst, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you.]
2. Has ascended on High with the Crown of Honor & Glory
Hebrew 2:9 [But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man.]
Acts 2:36 [Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made the same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ.]
3. Has received the promised Holy Spirit
Acts 2:33 [Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, he hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear.]
What Jesus has given His disciples?
1. To have those who believed in Him a new birth, a life with God, become children
of God
1Peter 1:3 [Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,]
2. To have bestowed the Holy Spirit onto them
Acts 2:33 [Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, he hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear.]
Acts 1:8 [But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.]
3. To have given gifts to men
Ephesians 4:8 [Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men.]
4. To have let them shared His fullness
Colossians 2:9 [For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.]
5. To have given them authority from above
Mark 16:17-18 [And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.]
6. To have entrusted them with the Kingdom of God Matthew 28:19-20
